Here is today's sentence. Its missing word begins with the letter P: 

Sentence: She helped p_____ a new medicine that helps you heal quicker after surgery. 

Hint 1: It means "to be one of the first people to do something."

Hint 2: It can be a verb or a noun. In the example above, it is a verb.
