THEME THURSDAY: COUNT OR NON-COUNT? EXPERIENCE(S): meaning and examples

Hello everyone, and welcome back.

For November's Theme Thursday, we are examining nouns that can be both Count and Non-Count. We begin this lesson with the noun EXPERIENCE

As a Non-Count noun,
EXPERIENCE means familiarity.

Example 1: I have a lot of experience working in sales.

Example 2: You must have 2 to 3 years of experience to apply for this job.

As a Count noun,
EXPERIENCE means an incident or event.

Example 3: Travelling to Africa and snorkelling in Bali are two experiences I will never forget.

Example 4: Because of my three bad experiences with horses, I am afraid to ride them.

For the rest of this month, we will look at other words which are both Count and Non-Count nouns. Tune in for these lessons, and make sure to check back tomorrow for Phrasal Verb Friday.

As always, thanks for reading and have a great day!
