THEME THURSDAY: COUNT OR NON-COUNT --> TALK
THEME THURSDAY: COUNT OR NON-COUNT --> TALK: meaning and examples
For November's Theme Thursday, we are looking at nouns that can be both count and non-count. Today we are looking at the noun TALK.
As a count noun, TALK means a speech.
Example 1: I went to two talks during the conference.
Example 2: I watched two TED talks last night.
As a non-count noun, TALK is more abstract. It means conversation.
Example 3: Political talk makes me uncomfortable.
Example 4: I agree with the expression "talk is cheap." I prefer action to words.
Next week, we will continue this lesson and look at another noun that is both count and non-count.
We'll see you tomorrow for Phrasal Verb Friday. Thanks for reading!
