THEME THURSDAY: COUNT OR NON-COUNT? WORK(S): meaning and examples

Welcome back everyone to the Daily Vitamin and Theme Thursday. For November, we are looking at nouns that can be both count and non-count. Last week, we looked at TALK; the week before, we looked at EXPERIENCE. Today, we are looking at the word WORK.

As a non-count noun, WORK means effort, like the work you do in your job.

Example 1: I have a lot of work today.

Example 2: Learning a language is a lot of work

As a count noun, WORK means a piece of art or a project.

Example 3
: You can see many of Picasso's works at the museum in Barcelona.

Example 4: Many of Shakespeare's works are comedies.

Tune in tomorrow for Phrasal Verb Friday, when we look at the verb GROW OUT. Until then, have a great day!
