THEME THURSDAY: EXPRESSIONS FOR INTEREST (TO BE FOND OF): meaning and examples
Many students are bored of using the expression "I like." Students often say that they feel they overuse this word! That is why October's Theme Thursday looks at Expressions for Showing Interest.

This week we are looking at TO BE FOND OF (SOMEONE/SOMETHING).
Definition: to like something.
Example 1: I am fond of Japanese food.
Example 2: I'm not too fond of spicy food.
Example 3: She has always been fond of songs by the Beatles.
We follow this word with a GERUND when we are using a verb.
Example 4: I am fond of skiing in the winter.
