THEME THURSDAY: PHRASAL VERBS AS NOUNS (TAKEOFF)
THEME THURSDAY: PHRASAL VERBS AS NOUNS (TAKEOFF): meaning and examples
For the month of March, our Theme Thursday focuses on Phrasal Verbs that can also be nouns. Last week we looked at the word BREAKTHROUGH. Today we are looking at the word TAKEOFF.
We looked at the phrasal verb TO TAKE OFF in November. It means "to leave" or "to remove/subtract." Click on the link below to review that lesson:

As a noun, the meaning is slightly more specific.
Definition: the moment when an airplane/helicopter leaves the ground.
Example 1: After takeoff, the flight was a little bumpy.
Example 2: They served drinks about 10 minutes after takeoff.
That's all for today. As always, thanks for reading! We will see you tomorrow for a lesson on the phrasal verb TO BREAK FREE. Until then, have a great day!
