THEME THURSDAY: WORDS FROM SHAKESPEARE (BELONGINGS): meaning and examples

Hello, DV readers! Good morning!

This month for Theme Thursday, we are looking at words coined by Shakespeare. Today we are looking at the word BELONGINGS

Definition: your possessions; the things that belong to you.

Example 1: She packed all of her belongings in the car and she moved to California.

Example 2: They lost all of their belongings in the fire.

Shakespeare used this word in the play "Measure for Measure." The line is:

"Thyself and thy belongings are not thine own..."

(This means "you and your possessions are not yours.")

What are your most precious belongings? Tell us on our Facebook or Twitter pages. We would love to hear from you.
