THIRD CONDITIONALS (PART 2)
THIRD CONDITIONALS (PART 2): meaning and examples
Welcome back, everyone! Happy Monday. I hope you had an excellent weekend.
Today we are spending another day practicing the THIRD CONDITIONAL. On Friday we asked you to complete a positive statement; today we are asking you to complete a negative statement. Here are some examples.
Example 1: If I had known you weren't going to the party, I would have stayed home.
Example 2: If I had known you weren't going to the party, I wouldn't have gone.
Example 3: If she hadn't received a scholarship, she wouldn't have gone to university.
Example 4: If I hadn't had children, I probably would have travelled more when I was in my 40s.
Now, you try!
You missed the train. You arrived three minutes too late! You want to express that you should have arrived three minutes earlier.
Like the previous lessons, there is more than one option. Leave us your answer(s) on one of our social media pages (Facebook or Twitter/X) and we will post the correct answer later. We will also include the answer in tomorrow's Daily Vitamin email.
That's all for today. All the best!
