Today's expression is: to draw the line at something
Meaning: to set a limit on the things that you will accept or do.
Example 1:
Look, I'll go over to your house to feed your cat every couple of days while you're away on holiday, but I draw the line at taking care of your dog. It's way too much work!
Example 2:
She lent him her books, her laptop and some tools, but she drew the line at lending him her car.
Example 3:
Nancy: Tina wants me to pick up her cousin at the airport, but I'm just so busy. I don't want to let her down, though.
Karen: Nancy! Tina always wants you to do something for her. You really ought to draw the line somewhere* or she's going to keep on treating you like her personal assistant!
*You can say draw the line somewhere when you are not specifying what limit to set.
