TO EXERCISE: meaning and examples
Most people know the word EXERCISE as a noun. For example, to do exercises; a difficult exercise. But, did you know that this word is also commonly used as a verb?
Today's verb is: TO EXERCISE
It means: to do physical actions to keep your body fit and in shape.
Example 1:
Stanley exercises three times a week. He goes jogging on Monday; he works out at the gym on Wednesday and he goes swimming on Friday.
Example 2:
Exercising is essential for good health, but nowadays most people spend their days sitting on a chair in front of a computer or a television.
Whew! After all this talk about exercising, I think I'm going to go to the gym or for a nice long walk this afternoon!
