TO GET IN / OUT OF SHAPE: meaning and examples
Yesterday we explained the words fit and fitness. We are going to continue with this topic today.
Today's verbs are: to get in shape and to get out of shape
To get in shape means: to reach or obtain a good level of fitness because you are exercising.
To get out of shape means: to lose your good level of fitness because you have NOT been exercising.
Example 1:
I've been so busy with work lately that I haven't been going to the gym. I really need to get in shape again!
Example 2:
Kristy got out of shape after her last pregnancy but now she is attending a mother-baby exercise class. She hopes to get in shape again soon.
