TO MAKE-4: meaning and examples
Hello.
Today is the last day we will look at expressions with the verb MAKE. Today we concentrate on another very common meaning: to cause something to happen or change.
To make somebody do something
Example 1: My boss is trying to make me work weekends, but I honestly can't, due to my family obligations.
Example 2: The Clint Eastwood film, "Bridges of Madison," made me cry.
To make somebody happy, sad, angry, etc.
Example 3: Winning the award made him very happy.
To make it known
Example 4: He never misses a chance to make it known that his father is the president of the company.
