Meaning: to ignore something that you know is wrong. To pretend not to notice something that is happening. 

Sentence 1: Politicians often turn a blind eye to the corruption that is happening in the government. 

Sentence 2: He knew what she was doing wrong, but he turned a blind eye as he didn't want her to get into trouble.
