Meaning: to cover something in decorative paper and ribbons or bows, like a gift or a present, for example.

NOTE: Gift wrap* or wrapping paper is decorative paper that we use for wrapping something up.

*To gift wrap is a verb that is commonly used in shops to refer to wrapping up an item.

Example 1:
The parents spent three hours wrapping up toys the night before Christmas.

Example 2:
The shop will wrap presents for a small fee.
