TOEIC WRITING PRACTICE: CONJUNCTIONS (HOWEVER)
TOEIC WRITING PRACTICE: CONJUNCTIONS (HOWEVER): meaning and examples
Hello and happy Friday, everyone! It's our last day of the Conjunctions theme.
Today we are focusing on the word HOWEVER. HOWEVER is a common word, but it's useful to occasionally review more common words. There might be a new way to use this word that you did not know about before!
Today we are specifically looking at the word HOWEVER when used as a conjunction.
Definition: In whatever way.
Example 1: You can decorate your room however you would like.
Example 2: Cook the salmon however you like it. I do not have a preference.
As you can see, this is different from other uses of the word HOWEVER. This usage is more common in American English than in British English.
That is all for this week. In spite of five challenging lessons, I hope that you enjoyed this week's theme! And remember, you can use these words/phrases even if you are not taking the TOIEC or Cambridge exams anytime soon.
Have a great weekend!
