We are continuing our theme of Conjunctions with the phrase IN SPITE OF. 

Definition: Not being affected by something else mentioned in the sentence. 

Example 1: In spite of the bad weather, we went to the beach. 

Example 2: She was tired, in spite of sleeping for nine hours.
