TOO MUCH ON YOUR PLATE
TOO MUCH ON YOUR PLATE: meaning and examples
Good morning.
On Tuesday we answered a question from Enric Gómez about the expression "May I take your plate?", which he learned five years ago while waiting tables somewhere in England.
Today we look at an expression that includes the word plate in it, which I have used quite a bit lately (unfortunately).
Today's expressions is: to have enough / too much on your plate
Meaning: to have a lot of work or a lot of problems to deal with.
Example 1:
She is running a business, raising her children and doing a Masters in Business Administration. She has got way too much on her plate. No wonder she is so nervous.
Example 2:
Most people feel stressed because they have too much on their plate.
