TRAVEL VOCAB: THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLEDâ
TRAVEL VOCAB: THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLEDÂ : meaning and examples
Hello and happy Friday to you all. Are you ready for our last lesson of the week?
We are looking at the famous expression THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED.Â
Definition: The less popular or common option. The unconventional choice.Â
Note: We often say we "take"Â the road less travelled.Â
Example 1: Everyone in my family is a doctor, but I took the road less travelled and became an artist.Â
Example 2: Don't go to Paris again. Take the road less travelled and spend a week in the French countryside!
This is an interesting expression because it's associated with Robert Frost's famous 1916 poem "The Road Not Taken." In this poem, the narrator comes to a split in the road and has to choose which road to take. He ends the poem by saying that in the future, he will tell people he took "the one less travelled." The poem is beautiful and the interpretation of it is fascinating. I recommend that you research it if you enjoy poetry!
This concludes our lessons for the week. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! We will see you on Monday for more lessons; until then, take care.
