Today's word is: twist (noun)

Meaning: an unexpected change or development in a situation or a story.

Example 1:  
The film was very entertaining. Just when I thought I had figured out who the killer was, the story took another twist.

Example 2:
The trial has become a bit more complicated. A key witness has disappeared, which has added a new twist on the case.

Example 3:
Due to a very curious twist of fate, they met again a month after meeting and got married.
