VERB PREPOSITION (SUPPLY)
VERB PREPOSITION (SUPPLY): meaning and examples
Welcome to Monday's Daily Vitamin, everyone! Are you excited to hear what this week's theme is?
Students so often say that they have issues with prepositions. This week, we are focusing on Verb Preposition Combinations. We will begin with the verb SUPPLY and the combination SUPPLY WITH.
Example 1: They supplied us with food and water.
Example 2: We will supply you with everything you need.
Example 3: Everyone will be supplied with pens and pencils.
Notice that we have the construction SUPPLY OBJECT WITH in the first two examples. For the third example, we do not have this construction because it is passive.
