VOCAB FOR TECHNOLOGY: BLOCKCHAIN

Good morning / afternoon / evening everyone, depending on when you are reading this. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin! I hope your week is going well so far.

Today we continue our look at words and expressions related to technology. 

Today's 1st technological concept is: Blockchain

Meaning: Blockchain is a digital ledger technology that records transactions in a secure, transparent, and decentralized manner. Each transaction is grouped into blocks, which are linked together in chronological order. This makes it nearly impossible to alter or tamper with the information, ensuring trust and accountability.

It can be difficult to understand these concepts, if you have not worked with them directly.  

Example 1:
I don't fully understand what blockchain is, but I know it is a way to keep records safe and secure on the internet.

Today's 2nd technological concept is: Quantum Computing

Meaning: A type of computing that uses quantum-mechanical phenomena, such as superposition and entanglement, to perform operations on data at incredibly high speeds.

Example 2:
Quantum computing can help us find new medicines and make better technology.

Example 3: Experts are studying how quantum computing can improve blockchain technology for better security and speed.
