VOCABULARY FOR TECHNOLOGY

This week we are focusing on words and expressions related to technology. Some of these words will be familiar to you, and others may be new to you. We hope you find the lessons interesting. 

Today's 1st technological concept is: the Internet of Things (IoT)

Meaning: The internet of things refers to the network of interconnected devices that communicate and exchange data with each other, typically through the internet.

Example 1:
With the internet of things, homeowners can control their lights, thermostat, and security system from a smartphone app, even when they’re not at home.

Today's 2nd technological concept is: Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Meaning: AI refers to the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. These processes include learning, reasoning, and self-correction.

Example 2:
Artificial intelligence has the potential to transform healthcare by analysing vast amounts of data to diagnose diseases more accurately and quickly.

Example 3: By combining artificial intelligence with the Internet of Things, businesses can analyse data from connected devices to optimize operations and improve efficiency.
