VOCABULARY WITH 'EARTH': TO BE SALT OF THE EARTH

In celebration of Saturday's Earth Hour, we are continuing with our theme for the week: Vocabulary with the word EARTH.

Today's lesson is the idiom: TO BE THE SALT OF THE EARTH.

Definition: A good, honest, worthy person. 

Example 1: My grandpa was wonderful. Truly the salt of the earth. 

Example 2: I'm excited to work with this company. The owners are real salt-of-the-earth people. 

Example 3: The Board of Directors doesn't seem to have any salt-of-the-earth people on it. We need a change.
