Today's phrase is: FATHER FIGURE

Definition: An older man who is respected for his paternal qualities and who might be an emotional substitute for a father.

Example 1: My boss has been like a father figure to me. 

Example 2: After my father died, my uncle acted like a father figure to me when I was younger.
