WEATHER IDIOMS (SILVER LINING): meaning and examples

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope you had a good weekend.

This week we are looking at idioms related to the weather.

This week's first expression is: Silver lining

Definition: an advantage that comes from a difficult or unpleasant situation. This comes from the idea of the silver lining that we can see around a dark cloud.

Example 1: Last week we lost an important client. The silver lining is that it was also one of the most complicated clients that we have ever had, so in some sense we are relieved to have lost the client.

Example 2: The family found a silver lining during this terrible period.

I think a very good practice in life is to always try to find the silver lining in challenging or difficult things that happen.

I hope all of you have a great day and find lots of silver lining in any challenges that you may face.

All the best!
