WEATHER vs. WHETHER: meaning and examples

Hello again everyone. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope that your week is going well and that you are having a good day.

Today we continue with another lesson about two words that are often confused in English.

Today's words that are often confused are WEATHER and WHETHER. Both of these words are pronounced exactly the same.

Meaning of WEATHER: the conditions in the sky above the earth, such as wind, rain, or temperature.

Example 1: After a week of rain, the weather is expected to become much hotter in the coming days.

Meaning of WHETHER (conjunction): this word is a synonym of IF.

Example 2: I wasn't sure whether she would like the necklace, but she loves it. I'm so happy!

We'll be back tomorrow with our last lesson of the week, and the last lesson of the 2023-2024 academic year.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
