WORDY WEDNESDAY: CORNUCOPIA: meaning and examples

Today we are looking at a word that is associated with Thanksgiving, but also used in other situations: CORNUCOPIA.

There are two definitions for this word.

Definition 1: a large, horn-shaped container that is full of foods, such as fruits and vegetables and nuts.

You have probably seen a picture of a CORNUCOPIA: it is a common Thanksgiving decoration. To see what it looks like, click here.

The second definition is useful throughout the year. 

Definition 2: an abundance of good things.

Example 1: The website is a CORNUCOPIA of information on art history.

Example 2: The store has a CORNUCOPIA of ingredients from Asia, so we can make good Thai food while living here in France.
