WORDY WEDNESDAY: 'ISH' FOR APPROXIMATION: meaning and examples

Hello everyone! I hope your week is going well. 

For Wordy Wednesday we are looking at the suffix -ISH.

You probably know the suffix -ISH with words like British, English, and Spanish. But we also use the suffix -ISH in other ways.

Definition: an approximation; similar to AROUND or ABOUT

Example 1She is tallish and maybe 30-ish

This person is probably somewhat tall and about 30 years old. 

Example 2: The party starts at 8-ish

The party starts around 8.
