For today's Wordy Wednesday, we are looking at the idiom OUT OF THE BLUE. 

Definition: an event that occurs unexpectedly, without any warning. 

Example 1: The car came from out of the blue and almost hit me!

Example 2: My childhood friend called me out of the blue the other day. It was so nice to hear from him. 

Example 3: My sister sent me a gift out of the blue last week. It was so thoughtful.
