Happy Wednesday, DV readers!

Definition
: the current or highest development in an industry or field.

It can be used as a NOUN PHRASE or as an ADJECTIVE

Example 1 (noun phrase): He improved the state of the art of mobile phones by inventing a smaller SIM card.

Example 2 (adjective): He insists on having only state-of-the-art appliances in his house.

Notice that with an adjective, we use hyphens between the words. State of the art becomes state-of-the-art.
